Introducing my character Shale, a color headed white blue merle shetland sheepdog. She's been around for a few years but I never got around to posting about her! These days, she's as much of a fursona as Vantid is.

Slower day today on Shetland - an eastern-type Lesser Whitethroat and YB Warbler at Fladderbister and a cracking, but distant, male Snowy Owl at The Hadd, Ronas Hill. The landscape of Ronas Hill is nothing short of spectacular. https://t.co/QxzGiFbqmo

It is #worldshorebirdsday and we can think of no better bird than the Red-necked Phalarope to fly the flag for #Shetland. Famous for their role reversal, amazing migrations and beauty.
Shetland pony/Pegasus Amethyst strutting her stuff (looking fabulously adorable as always).

Decided to paint Great Skua and Gannet off Shetland, as I failed to get a decent photo of either throughout the whole of the trip.
A trow is a fairy/troll associated with Orkney & The Shetland islands. Trows would kidnap musicians due their love of music. When the musician reappeared they’d often find years not hours had passed since they disappeared. #FolkloreThursday
