i usually keep it simple for my convenience. i tend to draw over other layers. my pixel arts usually consist of a reference layer, the background, and one layer for the drawing. and maybe a greyscale filter to check values. usually try to keep it under 10 https://t.co/iajPLMrNdi

Update, trying to keep my values in check. trusting the process is tough because theres always that time during a painting where it looks like a hot mess, but if you keep doing a little here and there it starts to pull together into a cohesive painting.

-Two days is way too much time

-i need to order the info better and determine more clear values

This only matters to me but when a painting is in color the values are a bit different than in grayscale. this is so wild!

One thing I do to check if the values of an illustration are working is to hide the lineart, if the figure reads well without relying on a line then we are good
