Some Ceratosaurs like the type genus, Ceratosaurus were already very flamboyant creatures without any feathering. So I’ve decided to generally limit it for this guy and let the horns do the talking.

Ceratosaurs are often touted as ‘the scaly Theropods’ given their primitive heritage and evidence of scales, feature scales and osteoderms. However, given the likelihood that early Dinosaurs had them (mostly in arid climates), it shouldn’t be ruled out that they were all shed.

Even though Ceratosaurus was the underdog of the Late Jurassic, it was a very unique theropod both in behavior and in appearance. In fact you could say that Ceratosaurus in real life resembled a dragon. Art by Paleocolour.

In some instances, Ceratosaurus possibly hunted aquatic prey, as it has been proposed that the tail was so flexible that if it took to the water, the tail would have been a very powerful swimming aid, used in a similar fashion as a crocodile. Art by Jan Selzer

Saurophaganax was one of the largest carnivores of Late Jurassic North America, bigger than Torvosaurus, Allosaurus, and Ceratosaurus, but rarer in terms of recovered material. Art by .

The DinoDog adoptables are here! Shoot me a DM if you're interested!

The first two are Ceratosaurus/Labrador hybrids, and the others are Tyrannosaurus rex/Tibetan Mastiff hybrids.

RT's appreciated!

Here's an example of the Ceratosaurus/Labrador mix! I also plan to do Tyrannosaurus rex/Tibetan Mastiff adoptables too.

The toothy Masiakasaurus; from Late Cretaceous Madagascar. It is so far, the best known representative of the strange family of ceratosaurs known as Noasaurids. It's well known for it's gnarly, forward pointing teeth which may have been useful for grasping small prey.

And now the reconstruction itself
Juvenile Guanlong wucaii based on a nearly complete paratype specimen (IVPP V14532).
Despite being well preserved it’s not very well described but I hope it’ll change in the future

A little more than 2 years ago I did my first full color illustration of a dinosaur, appropriately enough it was of a mother Ceratosaurus. Happy to all those moms who are just trying to find time to gnaw on a Stegosaurus femur and the kids won't leave you alone.
