One of my very favorite Japanese SF works, a dystopian novel with yuri overtones and themes of bodily autonomy. This would be Itoh's last work before his passing at age 34. The movie is drastically underrated and has beautiful environments.

The requirements for the GC3 Space are complex - it must reach new heights of lethality, but remain versatile in all rigours of combat and meet the diverse needs of multiple environments.
