Now that the hypes cooled down a bit and I really look at it, I'm a bit surprised to see the team at Mappa go for a more bright photo realistic look in the backgrounds as opposed to something more gritty and dark.

Here's my entry for 's challenge. Etus' chunky armor was very fun to do and I even felt it fits perfectly among the gritty boys of Fromsoft lore I've been drawing. Congrats on the 100k! That is quite an awesome fit!

This is one of my favorite pieces of D&D art. Trampier defines the gritty vibe of AD&D. Other artists did flashier or slicker art, but Trampier’s use of lighting, shadows and texturing is unparalleled.

For those who don't know (because I didn't until recently)...
Catscratch was actually adapted from a gritty comic book by Doug TenNapel called Gear.
Although most elements aren't present, three of the four protagonists are (Mr. Blik, Waffle and Gordon) with Simon being absent.
