Another old one! I painted Lustration of the Fallen soon after reading James Gurney's Color & Light and was thinking about the section on moonlight, where he dispels the misconception that moonlight is blue. This was an attempt to depict moonlight as having a reddish character.
Torvosaurus gurneyi strolling through a forest, without going all "hurr I'm a big theropod here's my teeth" cause he's an animal, not a movie monster.
Still really like the overall vibe of this piece from January 25, 2018.

I'm in the process of reading James Gurney's book to finally get a handle on painting/color theory, so I am going to try to do little studies as much as possible, starting with this lil fox!

Running through the hospital dazed, vision blurred due to the mask and fogged up goggles, gurneys rushing past...
I tried to capture the chaos the @kimballunion alumni experienced on the frontlines of #COVID19 treatment in this editorial illustration for @kimballunion Magazine.
Art vegetables update: I've been doing rough color gamut practice to understand some concepts from Color and Light by James Gurney (photo reference from Jenn Ravenna Tran's ref packs)!
It's definitely already started to help me learn how to make cohesive color palettes ✨
Been reading a lot of James Gurney's Color and LIght and messing around with my character color palettes.
