In my opinion, I don't really like the new proportions on the characters in DDLC+, I love the artstyle ngl, It's very amazing! I supposed I'm just abit biased due to the original render being used everywhere back then..

As a proof this the sketch I did - can be aligned with the most basic shapes on an existing art style.

Now this sketch was done in about 5mins- no refs what so ever yet it still match the illustration due to its proportions.

Far from line for line. And are basically the same as my crappy line up. Yes they vaguely overlap, but far from line for line. And the overlap is due to the stylistic proportions. That’s what I’m trying to say, not that the styles aren’t the same.
