Now this is one of the times where your usual approach needs work.
The face is too "soft and rounded" and the eyes are too much like a woman's eyes (also you should add the sclera)
Harden up the jaw and head, thin out the eyelashes to barely visible and less the pupil detail

The ring itself does funnel inwards and project towards the outside, which is what gives that dark outline, but the sclera, (usually white/ light part behind the ring) sits on the outskirts (and appears red often too in many due to blood vessels
