Salimgarh Fort & the Red Fort, Delhi~1836 ©V&A Museum.

The bridge connecting the two is the Mangi / Mansi Bridge.

Emperor Jahangir had constructed it in 1626 AD to access Salimgarh from Yamuna bank long before the Red Fort was constructed.

I like Single Stem's drama, especially in the dark form, but I'm most enamored of its small details - especially the curved stripes on the stems and the gradated dotting that adds dimension to the foliage. The blooms are also beautifully elaborate.

Hansel and Gretel by Simon Armitage illustrated by Clive Hicks Jenkins and published by manages to be a nightmare and an object of beauty and wonder at the same time. It thoroughly deserves its place on the V&A illustration awards shortlist.

I wondered where Garrick moved to, when he left the house with the plaque on it in 1772 - the answer turns out to be, into a grand new house built by Robert Adam (1728-1792).
The house is no more, but the ceiling of his drawing room, painted by Antonio Zucchi, is in the V&A
