Next on the #OrigamiKingRedesigns list, we have Professor Toad, A.K.A. Timothy Greyson.
Judging by his dialogue, Tim comes off as an older, more dignified toad so I thought going for a Toadsworth look would fit well.
His spots are tanned and he has a mustache to signify age.
Figured out a modified shading style that’s a little bit faster to pull off than my normal style. Decided on this kind of greyscale for when I start the webcomic for TOP. Still need to do some research, but I’m excited to get this started soon!

@castlehavven Oh so you do greyscale first! I used watercolors almost exclusively for many years so I am used to jumping in with colors. If you want to try with digital, I recommend making a very fast color sketch using the fill lasso tool, like these

Finding a purple that didnt clash with the dark greys was a challenge, but this is a good tone!
I've found a neat way to turn greyscale to color!
It's a bit weird to work with but it's working for my current project.
Test coloring I did tonight to see if i had the skills to paint with color rather than doing greyscale and coloring after. Always made the colors muddy and using overlays on greyscale took forever to mess with until I was happy. I wanna try this again but with actual bg stuff
