@sasanianshah @MarcoCampa10 Shiva is associated with the nakṣatra Ārdrā, and not Rāhu or Ketu. We have Rudra and the bull in the "Vedic" set of nakṣatras in East Asia:
But oh well, at least we got that cover. And some sweet Adriana Melo panels. I'd like to see her draw Shiva again someday.
Suddenly, White Canary wants Shiva to kill Dinah for her, and Shiva, who clearly doesn't want to be there, agrees for extremely vague honor-related reasons.
Like, seriously, nowhere in this run do they even hint as to why Shiva is doing something she doesn't want to.
"The next mf'er I see who says some dumb shit like 'Batman can totally beat Lady Shiva in a fight' is welcome to try it themselves. Seriously. Some of y'all clearly never spent an entire decade terrified because you tricked the Mistress of the Martial Arts and it shows." https://t.co/mYmML8nBY5
we're doing honors communism in shiva raids to make sure everyone in crew gets a blue chest. it takes me a really long time to hit mins so i have the power to control whether shiva lives or dies with the posting of a sticker.
my crewmate lance just made this 😂

@Critical_Rants @DCComics Like most things with Shiva, Question is still the best, but there was a pretty great one recently in Batman and the Outsiders #10:
Lady Shiva

Modesty Blaise

@VicSages @ericnewsom Here's the original cover.
And yeah, that moment took on a whole new meaning once I realized Hal and Shiva do basically the same job.
Ultimately, of all the times Shiva's been beaten, Batgirl #25 is still the best one because it means something. It means a whole LOT of somethings, not just for the plot or for Cass' power level but for their characters. There's just so much more to it than "my fave > yours".
... not just fight her, not just stand her ground, but actually defeat her while staying true to her path (which to me is the whole point of Shiva dressing Cass in her Batgirl outfit and of this bit of dialogue in particular), then she should be immensely proud of her.
In my defense:
- The real big victory, the huge triumph of Batgirl #25 to me is not against Shiva. It's Cass getting over her own death wish. It's Cass going out to die and then rejecting that at the very end.
@InkSilvery's Lady Shiva (and friends) masterpost!
Commissions are open so go get 'em!
@eurymoonchild No problem! The best Lady Shiva stuff for me is:
- The Question by O'Neil/Cowan. She's in issues 1-2, 28-31, 36 and the Annual, but honestly, the whole thing's worth reading.
- Batgirl by Puckett/Scott, issues 7-9, 23, 25 & 26, but again, worth reading all of it.
@eurymoonchild And then there's 4) Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy's current run of Batman and the Outsiders, which is the first time anyone has ever written Cass and Shiva actually teaming up and working together. It hasn't ended yet, but so far it's the best since Puckett's run ended.
