1989: Ranma 1/2
I actually started with the OVA VHS tapes from Blockbuster back in the day. I used to have mom translate the manga from Chinese. The moment she found out there were English versions, she bought them so I could read them on my own. 😂
Also first slash pairings.
Aaaand that’s it for anime released during my lifetime 👵🏻 Didn’t think the thread would get this long lol
1991: Otaku no Video
This was a fun OVA, even if a bit weird at times, I liked seeing what parts of otaku culture have changed or stayed the same 20+ years later

SHIROBAKO
HELLSING OVA
2013 - Hidamari Sketch: Sae Hiro Sotsugyou-hen

1989 Dancouga blazing epilogue
My least favorite dancouga ova
Still pretty good
Ova, a weird mishmash of themes and inside jokes, but mostly based off of an egg timer. That explodes. She has without a doubt one of the strongest destructive capabilities out there, with her ticking to 0 having once obliterated a reality before. Shy and reclusive.
