Day 21 Colossal Stactus
A mid-boss from Kirby Mass Attack based on Stactus enemies from the same game. Unlike normal Stactuses this guy is made out of multiple body segments as opposed to one. He appears in a sand filled room in Sand Canyon 3.

I found some early concept art from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. This was made when the film was going to be directed by the Brizzi brothers who also directed The Firebird segment from Fantasia 2000. This art was eventually scrapped when Lord and Miller took over the film.

Stepped away from this one for a bit, but I'll keep the thread going. Next, we need to fix that roof beneath the tower and extend it out. We can use a similar method here since it is parallel to the vanishing point. Isolate the segment, duplicate, add variation, fade to blend.

Detail of the head. I wanted to portray the face keratin in a more segmented formation like scutes. I also made the beak and horns longer than what the skull would show because they would have been. Tips of horns would have started curled but would wear with experience.
