This is probably an old trick, but if you import one of those classic UV Maps as a hair texture in Vroid Studio, it might help you decide where to place your highlights, gradients, and different colored streaks?

This is my first time trying maps so I'll finish the rest of the area to settle with a style when working on the map. I've been doing characters before this, but that's a bit repetitive so I took a break and did this. I also have to go back and clean a lot of characters sprites.
