I turn off the flats as they interfere with how I paint the lighting. BUT the flats serve as selections (by holding ctrl + clicking on layer) which I could use to define edges without the lighting going all over the place as I keep the lighting in just one layer.

Tip about edges in painting! Edges are closely related to value. Notice here how the soft edge of the shadow on the sphere is simply a slow gradient of value. This slow change of value tells us that the sphere is round, but it also appears as an abstract shape with a soft edge.

I didnt know what to do with kou's dress i didnt want it to be too puffy so i made the edges of the skirt and the bottom of the waist line fluffy

Also i chose mitsuba's flower bc of the meaning
