I do very minimal shading overall (mostly just what's required to make the art look less.. flimsy ig?)

But I like to use "blocky gradients" where I layer a lot of segments of cell shading to get a slight blending effect! It's most visible in the eyes I think

I love big, blocky cells, but I'm starting to incorporate opacity gradients and gradient maps. I think I can get them to work in motion too.

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I always prefer more blocky, chunky mecha designs to more streamlined ones.

I can't articulate it in words properly, but I like how RX 78 looks in comparison to GN-0000 for example. I also like Unicorn more than Barbatos

I used the DH-17 a lot when I played Battlefront 2, so it's probably my fave Star Wars gun, but rather than copy/pasting it, I gave Rebecca a DC-17 instead (channeling some "Bad Batch" energy). It's a cool little blaster pistol, and I like its blocky shape.

Like look at this. Toy Menasor is a clumsy, brilliant, blocky charcoal goofball and I'll love him forever; while Cartoon Menasor is a streamlined, cleaner, darker, spikier beast and I can take it or leave it. How the hell are you gonna please everybody? Happy for the toon fans 🤷‍♂️
