I kept the shadows pretty saturated and made the lighter ones have a warmer tone and the darker ones cooler, but the opposite also looks good. For the background i just kinda picked random colors at first, made the highlights darker using the tone curve, (2/x)

ty!! :D when it comes to colors i usually make them pretty "normal" at first, for this drawing i made everything kinda yellowish and then added light purple (so a complementary color) to the highlights, then i added more saturation and contrast (1/x)
