Have you played any that are in ADV format? It goes a lot more to the side of "book" which is greatly enhanced by the music and editing when the action scenes occur. Highly recommend one of them if you haven't tried it.

one thing i REALLY loved about it was the sort of "80s comic book" artstyle it had. the stylized backgrounds, the harsh exaggerated shading, the detail on the flora and fauna. it's raw as FUCK and really stands out from most nintendo games
