Only reason I can ever, ever see anyone preferring Archie's reboot era to its pre-reboot era is because they think it being more like the games is a good thing by itself, because when actually looking at its substance, it lacks any by comparison, much like IDW imo.

For comparison, the one on the left here is the original version back in 2013-2014, done on MS Paint using my laptop’s trackpad. I thought I did pretty good back then, but I’ve improved so much in the 8 years since that day!

CMI is a totally different art style (like I said, I would've preferred RMI to look like a natural continuation of MI2), but there is a similarly sinuous quality to the lines. RMI is extremely angular by comparison, which characters the whole character for my idiosyncratic eye.
