I like to stain the canvas with various different colors to create this sort of "noise" in the picture where the paint doesn't adhere properly due to the bold brushwork and the texture, so I choose the color according to the palette of the painting, like I did in these:

Jack actually has a bit of Evelyn’s hairstyle as a part of his own! Namely the under-ear tufts(?)
