Man I unironically like this design, but it just does not fit Klonoa 1 at all. Like he's suppose to be a kid in 1, so seeing him like this feels off. His english dub voice is not good either. It makes sense for 2 since he was older, but 1? No it doesn't work

I'm not even arguing that you should draw super-detailed backgrounds in ever panel! Just, like, occasionally! 1 per page or so!

If you focus your efforts on establishing shots you can get away with minimal details on all other panels. I do it all the time in Castoff.
