"Art thou from the snowy zone
Of a mountain summit blown
Or the blossom of a dream
Fashioned in the foamy stream

Nay, methinks the maiden moon
when the daylight came too soon
Fleeting from her bath to hide
Left her garment in the tide"

Clytie fell in love with sun god Apollo, who at 1st was interested, but then he tired of her. She sat, day after day, slowly turning her head to watch Apollo move across the sky in his sun chariot. Eventually, the gods pitied her & turned her into a sunflower.
