Another patron reward sketch from the latest Discord live stream finished. Was requested to paint a phoenix and I had a thought of depicting one from Slavic folklore - Жар птица or Firebird.
Used my colour swatches palette and one painterly brush for this sketch!

The roc is an enormous legendary bird of prey in the popular mythology of the Middle East.

The roc appears in Arab geographies and natural history, popularized in Arabian fairy tales and sailors' folklore.

British folklore regards owls as harbingers of doom. A screeching owl flying past the window of a sick person foretells their death. However, in Greek myth the owl symbolises Athena who keeps one on her shoulder, endowing her with knowledge & insight.

It's not that I HATE winter, it's just that snow and ice make me think of murderous creatures out of Scottish folklore.

"Tamed" series on .
Inspired by mythology and folklore, the concept behind the series is the view of domestic animals in non-consuming way and the spiritual connection they build with humans.

Beetle' Bauble stuff

It's the setting I've been working on for a while and I wanna keep making scientific prints and biology entries for it. I wanna sell the world through academic material, kitschy ads for common stuff, and folklore. Eventually I'll make the fucking comic too

The Deck

Still working on a title. But it's a fully now oracle deck based on my setting. Currently it has 20ish cards, still expanding. Each card tells a story of the world through context of folklore, superstition, mysticism, and occultism in that world.

Various fairy tales tell of small, helpful creatures who assist a kind but tired worker. In Grimm's "The Elves and the Shoemaker," it's elves. In Beatrix Potter's "The Tailor of Gloucester," it's mice. Disney's Cinderella also continues this tradition.
