It’s goblins fighting spiders in today’s thrilling episode of OldTOR. I quite enjoy imagining these very gloomy places where such things go on.

OldTOR - Misty Mountains Goblin.
Something that really terrified me as a kid, was Ralph Bakshi’s LOTR. I still love it for its terrifying oddness.
When it came to designing orcs I wanted to get some of that horror in there.

OldTOR time! This is the cover to Tales from Wilderland by Gareth Hanrahan. This was painted over a sketch by the amazing John Howe. He suggested that I paint it, which still boggles my mind.

Getting the hang of the new tablet , feeling more natural for drawing and really suited to using Artrage.

OldTor arrives precisely when it means to! Here's Bloodstump the Troll. I have no memory of which book he is from. Answers on a party invitation, please.

Trephacard inspired by various pieces by Botticelli and Castlevania episode 6 season 2 "The River".

I was thinking of repainting this at some point
Made using artrage

Morning! Old TOR time. The cover to The Darkening of Mirkwood, the epic campaign by Gareth Hanrahan & Francesco Nepitello.

As ever, it’s all about the Hobbit iconic Trotter. He’s the best.

Digital painting by Rebelle.

Rebelleの使い心地が非常に良かったんでデモ版から製品版に移行した。
油彩はArtRageに似た感じがする。
勝手にテクスチャ感が出たり、ハプニング的な表現が生まれるのもナイスな所だと思う。

“Barrows” from Hobbit Tales. Quite a simple image this one, and I’d completely forgotten about it. There’s quite a lot going on in those little patches of light. Narratively it’s very very simple, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
