so the dkc series up to dk64 would have to take place during ‘wrecking crew,’ which explains wrinkly kong’s absence as the queen of the jungle kingdom; she’s dead.

we can assume that history may have repeated itself and dk jr (who is all grown up) kidnaps her. however, this may not be the case as the “traumatic” event pauline referred to in odyssey could’ve been ‘mario vs donkey kong.’ this could explain why new york becomes new donk.

after the dk arcade trilogy (or quadrilogy if you count dk ‘94), donkey kong and dk jr return home and donkey kong embraces a new nickname as “cranky kong.” meanwhile, dk jr soon becomes old enough to inherit cranky’s necktie and title as the CURRENT donkey kong.
