Lance's jacked and buff Dragonite makes me feel very happy. I think it takes me back to a time where the Pokemon world felt more "mystique~" or just very fantastical? It's super charming in a way that I feel sometimes is missing in the more modern universe.

@ClaremontRun Not sure about what C said in interviews/writings outside the books, but in the stories it seemed that while Mystique blames Forge for Destiny's death (and Rogue's), their eventual fate was to overcome that hatred. Destiny sees her death, but also sees a relationship forming.

It’s also of course, a big step down in terms of power and prominence for Mystique, a character whose combination of intelligence, deviousness, and networking made her one of Claremont’s most formidable villains. Here she becomes Forge’s dependent. 6/9
The problems here are many: first up, Mystique is immediately characterized as a damaged woman to be nurtured and thus recontextualized as the “mad woman in the attic” who plays house with Forge. This is a textbook example of straightwashing. 5/9
Once Claremont left, however, all of this changed. Forge immediately fell into the same mistakes, Mystique underwent a heteronormative conversion, and the feud between them dissolved into an almost romantic pairing instead. 4/9

13) We like X-Men: Days of Future Past, but it never recovers from the twist when Magneto tries to murder (the inferior Jennifer Lawrence) Mystique. Too long and repeats too much from prior films. Not nearly as good or resonant as the original comics.
