🦕🦖☄️🌍 @IdlLuiz from @FC_UL (Portugal) is opening a call for PhD fellowships, including two projects on Paleobiology and Paleoecology of Dinosaurs:

#FlockOfArtists I draw all flying vertebrates, but mainly the prehistoric ones, mainly from the Mesozoic. I might have an obsession.
[also, just 10 followers short of reaching 6k!] [What? How? When?]
#SundayFishSketch of Masterpisces, though it looks a little like Dunkleosteus, is the oldest known vertebrate to give birth to live young. The holotype was found in 2005 in the Gogo Formation in Australia.
Hi i am also pikaole, drawing animals, especially aquatic life... Fish is cute. Amphibians are cute, Invertebrates are cute. #AnimalArtistsUnite

Hi, I am Gabriel and I am a paleoartist and scientific illustrator. I illustrate/reconstruct both extant and extinct animals, particularly tetrapods (although lately I have done quite a lot of invertebrates) 😊
Mammals, like other vertebrates started out with internal testes located near their kidneys, kinda like this:
It's a girl with a skull.
What, are you only into invertebrates?
I'm not judging.
Nintendo really fucked up when they designed splatoon. https://t.co/2hakvjngsh
If vertebrates and internal bones are so good and cool how come the first radiation of fish just had exoskeletons
@STOAdmiralAaron @ShipTalkingPod Also speaking as someone with a good deal of experience with comparative vertebrate anatomy the answer is A, analogous clothes proceed along the body axis. See:
@ThisGuyx85 @arvalis I should’ve said that snakes have a “Special adaptation” not “special bone” as other species also have the quadrate. It forms the upper part of the jaw joint. In snakes, this bone is adapted to be a double hinge while in other vertebrates it is fused or a part of the upper skull.
My own little take on the Skullcrawler.
I reimagined it as a gigantic amphibious invertebrate sea monster, like C-Rex from the ‘98 animated Godzilla series.
May or may not use this in a future Godzilla-related fan project...
thanks to early Spanish colonists in the 1500s, we know of Aztec, Inca, and other ancient oral traditions about discoveries & interpretations of large vertebrate fossils
How to #decolonize this?

1. The University Museum of Zoology Cambridge has a collection of fluid preserved deep-sea invertebrates collected from hydrothermal vent sites in the Southern Ocean by the British Antarctic Survey @BAS_News @ZoologyMuseum @Nat_SCA #NatSCAConservation
Vampire squid! Todays #onehouranimal suggested by @NMP_PalAnox in another life I became a #cephalopod biologist and study nautilus behaviour. This was fun to paint, I love all the bold red, #invertebrates have the best colours. 🥰
