Mystical creatures
For board book, the simplest character development was important. With picture to chapter book, character development for mermaids becomes complex. Body movement, eyes, colours and background bring depth to the narrative.

Unlike with Frenetic, I did not go into this blind. I had vivid memories of playing and liking DreamWeb (a game young sharka probably shouldn't have been playing!) and being fascinated with the included Diary that gives much-needed context for the game's narrative.

Watched this film where a giant old English Nicolas Cage visits an island if midevil Littl' Bits.

Unfortunately the film barely presented his mental struggles of trying not to squash any of them or collapse a building with each movement. Would of been a fun narrative.

If you havent watched the animated show by Genndy Tartakovsky, you are missing some very thoughtful story telling and art direction that doesnt need dialogue to tell a powerful narrative.
Be prepared to cry a few times though, and gore warning.
