FINALLY making a new dire session in blenderrrr
My previous one was imported with the old version of the psk importer so the bones were all weirdly rotated 🥴
This one also uses the fnshader so its muuuch more polished now 😳

[2]before, we removed the weapon 'cause we need to separate the 'slash' vfx, as design wise:
1) we planned to modify the vfx for buff power
2) we need to reuse 2 dir char anim for 8 dir vfx (rotated)
we're still doing 2) now but adding back the bell improves the feel of weight.

Each character's 3D rig included controls to help manipulate various elements and maintain more 2D-esque silhouettes and poses. Pearl's lovely nose, for example, gets rotated on her face to ensure it never directly points at the camera.
And here is a look at how I set up the bones for the head and hair. The tilt is controlled by a single bone (purple) and the other bones simply follow its commands (transform constraints). Green bones can also be moved or rotated. Same for yellow bones (used for the hair).

How the effect is done: each part has a top and front view, and a "depth setting". The top and front are squished and stretched based on camera height. The top and bottom together are moved based on the depth setting & camera height. It's just rotated as a whole for tilt.
