I would say play Berseria, decide if you're interested in this world, and then play Zestiria if you can tolerate its technical shortcomings. It is VERY ambitious (undoubtedly too ambitious) but it does manage to shine when approached on its own terms.

I'd give it a 7/10!

Daily Tales Reminder of the Day

Miyuki Kobayashi has been in the Tales franchise as a character model designer. She has worked on Vesperia, both Xillias, and Berseria models. It wasn't until Zestiria where she started doing character illustrations as she designed Heldalf.

Daily Tales Reminder of the Day

Minoru Iwamoto mainly did the character designs for the Radiant Mythology games. It wasn't until Zestiria that he started designing for main series games. Arise is and will be the first game that will only have him as the main designer.

she is obviously the stories anchor.) I went back in time a bit from there and enjoyed Tales of Legendia a good bit. Tales of Zestiria came out next, and that game was the reason I bought a PS4. Zestiria is my least favorite of the modern Tales games, but that (11/15)
