In the backmatter, Andrews says he had the ending planned from the beginning, but by the time he got there he didn't like it anymore.
I can only assume the resurrection of Shou-Lao and happier ending tacked on after Danny's fight-to-near-death with his girlfriend is the revision.

Friday was my last day on Centaurworld. Working on this show as a revisionist was such a blast. I learned a ton from the super talented crew and felt very close with everyone. Please watch this amazing show when it comes out on Netflix people!!!

cleaned it up a bit and fixed some stuff, i missed the mark when i did the initial design, i think i went a bit overboard with the joker grotesque style that didn't translate well and made her straight up ugly.
