I think my dream game would be a remake of (FC)/Dragon Warrior (NES), but with DQXI's graphics and [Dark] Souls-like Action-RPG combat and progression. Just maintain the grind of the original DQ and have Tantegel Castle be the single "Bonfire" you return to

I did some little asset practice and threw together a tiny piece. I tried using colors and a style that reminds me of an NES game.

The Famicom cover for Ultima Exodus has some cartoony depictions of our heroes. Not surprising though since a lot of the game was adjusted to accommodate an audience familiar with JRPGS

Veteran illustrator Paul Mann was commissioned to create the sleeve artwork for the vinyl soundtrack releases for Metal Gear (MSX & NES), and the result is a near-perfect encapsulation of the essence of the source material. I'm curious if he'll also make Metal Gear 2's album art.
