I really loved this one for a long time (still do). For the early 2000s view of Spinosaurus, this painting prefectly captured the "grizzly bear of its ecosystem" idea floating around Spinosaurus back then.

genuinely though with higurashi the orig visuals of these extremely 2000s sprites and the filtered photo bgs are sooooo much more compelling and charming to me than making it just look like any other vn... honestly i find the background redraws way more offensive than the sprites

Something mid-2000s anime like Lucky Star/Haruhi did that I would love to see done for is the character CDs where characters sing the theme in their unique style as well as solo songs. Along with Retsy would love to see punk Haida, rapper Ton, DJ Anai with full songs.
