As much as I love FFXIV I do admit, their ver. of Chocobos ain't really m favorite. They tend to look fine with certain bardings, but overall I'm not a big fan of the chocobo designs where they fuse the beak with the face.

As creatives we tend to be v critical of our output. To move focus away from me and my inner anxieties about my illustrations, I would imagine someone finding our book on a library shelf or maybe a young artist creasing the binding because they wanted to draw Ruth themselves...
I decided I wanted to try experimenting with a messier and more exaggerated art style, and I really like it!
I'll still probably do the "painting style" I tend to do, but here's another one, I guess.

@sweetpuddincup For me, it's a mix of the poses (you tend to have a good sense of visual movement), the slightly pastel'd colors (even on a design as contrasted as Shard, which I love!) and the style of your eyes (usually a solid shape, rounded, but not soft)
