theres also this little HUD floating around for your shortcuts that came in really handy when i was still starting out with it. you can move it around on your screen or even disable it eventually once youve got it all memorized!

When painting in Gimp, be sure to disable the Snap to Guides option so you wont have jagged strokes. The Snap to Guides can be useful when constructing architectures and backgrounds though.
