Flower inspired by the Protea - which I painted in acrylic paint on canvas & added digital airbrush/spray paint to soften the look. I call it 'Dreamy Flower' :)

7. I make a new layer on top of everything and neaten things up using the dense watercolour brush. (I use this brush for flats as well.) Earlier, I also dropped the opacity of my lineart because I thought it was too dark. Here I also airbrush cheeks and hair.

the first one is the newer set i've been working with when i do more airbrush-y textures, but the more graphic style is brighter and livelier, and the stylistic mismatch makes them pop a bit

I tried a couple new things in my process here. Like I used the airbrush almost exclusively for the rendering, but with the flow turned way down so I could build up the forms.
