Yesterday I did my stragest courtroom sketch job ever. Brandon Wolfe was charged in the looting/burning of the police HQ during the riots. Due to covid the hearing was done as a private Zoom call. Recording was forbidden so CBS News hired me to sketch. Here's what I cranked out.
I've been in a drawing slump lately so I figured making something simpler and that is in my tastes would cheer me up! So here, Athena Cykes: Courtroom Revolutionnaire chibi style!
#OTD in the trial of the Lincoln conspirators, the original plan of kidnapping Lincoln out of @fordstheatre was heard. Also, Lincoln’s 12 year old son, Tad, visited the courtroom. https://t.co/2u7RHQX0EY
Henry Hunt and all but one of the other convicted reformers have just entered the courtroom in London, all wearing the Orator's trademark white hat. The radical editor T.J. Wooler is among those accompanying the defendants. Cartoon by Polyp @PeterlooBook https://t.co/hoR6rTH5tF

@nahyutalovesu Prosecutor Sahdmadhi, you always allow three strikes in the courtroom during a trial, ja? Maybe it's time to make use of that system now ...?
@JillWineBanks Reading your wonderful book. In searching for it online I found two courtroom sketches of you by Pat Davies, which I bought. Do you recognize them? If you would like to have them I would happily trade for five signed first printings of your book plus $100. ~PFisk
'The Nuremberg Trial,' Laura Knight. Flown to Nuremberg as an official war artist, Knight's portrait of the defendants departs from her usual realism: the back of the courtroom merges into the smoky ruins of the city. 'Death and destruction had to come into the picture,' she said
someone once said to me that sebastian debeste and hugh o'conner should be courtroom rivals and secretly idolize each other and honestly?? honestly?? yeah
sidebar who let them dress themselves. i want a name
Courtroom sketch of Harvey Weinstein during his current trial at New York criminal court in Manhattan. By artist Jane Rosenberg.

Courtroom Art basically collates examples of courtroom sketching across time and in so many styles (including cartoons etc) - I love that stuff anyway but it's so cool to see the diversity of work within such a niche field and the emotion they express

The Nuremberg Trial (1946). Laura Knight (1877-1970). Imperial War Museums. Laura Knight went to Germany in January 1946 and spent three months observing the trials from inside the courtroom. #femaleartist
