Basically, they are a guy on a ego testosterone trip. "Out-macho the dudes" is not good writing for female characters.

Then you have characters like these, compassionate, self sacrificing, protectively emotional, determined, feminine, AND strong. Just not in a macho way.

Jasmine...doesn't like men very much! It isn't a "they should die" hate; she just has so many bad experiences that her instinct is to watch them very carefully

But if you're a more feminine, soft guy, she feels a LITTLE more comfortable! Probably isnt fond of masculine dudes
