#Publication: Lujza Keresztes's paper has been published in @ZooKeys_Journal with the title of "Helen’s twins in the Balkans: discovery of two new Paraptychoptera Tonnoir, 1919 species closely related to P. helena Peus, 1958, with systematic revision of the “lacustris” group".
All those bat peeps who enjoyed my #fatbatweek designs:
I've got note pad designs on my mind!
Do I burn my bank account to the ground for a 3rd design?
Do I go with a NZ short tailed #teampekapeka?
NZ and Aussie ecology buffs: interested in chiroptera stationary?
#PRDinovember2021 4. Flowering Wildfires. In the aftermath of a forest fire, Changmiania inspects a sapling Archaefructus already sprouting again, while a pair of Eopteranodon search the charred tree trunks for prey.

Conservator found a beetle trapped in the oil paint on #JoanEardley's suberb Winter Sea III @hunterian. Identified as Omalium sp. Like the artist, these rove beetles are in their element in the elements, active all year round, even during winter storms #coleoptera #staphylinidae

I don't see giggle bot as a frog but more a dynastes hercules. if not that then definitely a type of coleoptera.

Seba's short-tailed bat brunching on lolly bananas. Ok lovely #batpeople. This is the final #fatbatweek bat from me for 2021 - 10th days - A full #forgottenrealms week. I have more bat art planned but confection & #chiroptera is wrapping its leathery wings & hibernating til 2022
Another #fatbatweek offering; Hipposideros fulva about to nick pistachios from atop Gulab Jamun. These bats are actually insectivorous and have the most adorable little nose dishes that aid in echolocation.

Dung beetle, Anoplotrupes stercorosus. I have marked the spot for you in the second picture. A great play of colors in the indentations and a fine structure can be seen here.

The Harpy Aviary's been experiencing an influx of new arrivals during the night, and they're definitely not birds! Perhaps they're attracted by the fruit... or something else!?
This is the Spectacled Flying Fox chiropteran! He'll be going for a set price of $117.
Tis the season to be batty!
I take wing for Halloween moods! Back to my ol' reliable cheerful chiroptera! A squeaky salutations!

The construction to blood+ radical terminology to why blood is very important is layered thoroughly. All chiropterans can feed on human blood naturally. It gets distinct when various chiropteran species accept/reject certain blood from their own.
while we are on a #butterfly theme I came in 2day 2 see this lovely painting on our barn of a #marshfritillary (which live here)@ColegPlasDwbl by @Lindanorris1 This is Sam kindly showing how it works @savebutterflies @PembsCoast @RuskinMill @IoloWilliams2 #lepidoptera @fmspear

Spending my day working on a #paleoart commission of darwinopteran pterosaurs - critters like Darwinopterus, Kunpengopterus, and Cuspicephalus (below). These are fun animals to draw thanks to having all the best bits of pterosaur anatomy: big heads, big crests, and long tails.
