I need to be more brave with darker values. I fear them sometimes but they are necessary to add some suspense in your composition.

Color tip! Keep in mind what colors are intense at what values. Example: red is intense at a middle value, and yellow is intense at a light value, so I knew red in the light and the yellow in the shadow could be part of the same value group. This helps to plan values structures!
