This is one of the best uses of a musical piece being used to tell a story. One of my teachers, who directed this sequence, expressed how the music was the star of the piece, and everything else had to be worked around it.

Diebuster! FLCL director, Kazuya Tsurumaki, directed this over the top sequel to the well-loved OVA, Gunbuster. IMO, I think Tsurumaki outdid the original OVA. You don't need to have seen the original to enjoy this one. Available on Retrocrush streaming for free.
