I usually do lineless with gradients for shading. It's easier then having to do lienart and color. It's faster too. I also blur it to help make it look farther away... examples

...or so what I should say but, I was trying to copy what other artists do where they do sketch the just color it then erase some unneeded sketch lines but when I did it...it became ugly so I just did a lineless instead
