Some close ups! This was very much a lesson in how to properly indicate things- there's a delicate balance between over-rendering or just straight up having brushstrokes that mean nothing. Huge respect for the artists who do this well, its def something I'm still struggling with!

I downloaded a bunch of brushes and was playing with them. Hmm maybe I should stick to thicker brushstrokes when sketching, it's so much faster

"Spruce" by Peter Leckett is part of our summer "Canadiana" exhibit.

Peter can pull out so much of the intricacy and complexity of a natural landscape with just a few brushstrokes!
