First it was Jacob but his pet crow was called "Lakritz" and I really liked that and didn't want to chnage it. So I changed Jacob into Jakob (the German spelling of the name) so it would make more sense that he would name his crow "Lakritz" https://t.co/bBqY3Pa91b

I'll say, the pros of the Fates localization faaaar outweigh the cons. From changing problematic supports, removing creepy features like face petting, to sometimes just better sounding dialogue in general. Even the name changes were sometimes for the better (Niles, Jakob, Azura).
