Adding more details to the world. For example, at a roundabout, there's lights in the background that have a parallax scrolling effect, showing that there's a road going into the distance.

This is probably a repost, but whatever. Here are sprites for all Street Fighter 1's fighters on the Amiga. The Atari ST was identical but that featured parallax skies. These look great and differentiate height better than most other ports.
