Good question about the pose- here's what we used for Kaien. Most 2D sprites people use will likely have a 3/4 perspective as yours does. You also have the option to import additional views of the body parts, like a front-facing view, so you can experiment with the animation rig!

-101: i don't have much to say abt the duel but this scene where Edo has visions of going toward Saiou, not facing him, and when he turns his face is that of a demon

then Saiou duelling in Edo's body. Technically close but Edo cannot face him
