The ring itself does funnel inwards and project towards the outside, which is what gives that dark outline, but the sclera, (usually white/ light part behind the ring) sits on the outskirts (and appears red often too in many due to blood vessels

Finally outlined and colored that sketch I started!

I dunno why there's snow, it just looked so boring and...look backgrounds are hard, okay? Haha

Also had to play with colors cuz he clearly turned out the best between the two!

I use photos for reference, although there are colors/ features that look good in real life but not so much in comics (Like outlining teeth for example) I like taking a color skin sample from a photo, apply it to a comic character and then I just adjust levels

The shadow of the profile fell upon the wall,
and she drew its outline there, carefully --
thus realism was born from light and shadow

I had some stuff to do but here's the sprites! There's some difference in outlines and shading between the two variants although it's hard to see.

so.. i see some people saying cowl doesnt fit Ezra Miller's face.
i'd argue it does. the key issue here isTHIS partcular shot's lighting, which HIDES the black outlining the red pieces of the suit has. imo it only means, the suit wasnt made for this kind of light.

Before I color my illustrations, I simply love to create these simplistic outline snapshots. Save & take in the process 💙

I was suppose to outline this, but I fell in love with the sketch enough to leave as is with little coloring. Enjoy! 🌸

I reworked this piece so many times because I wanted the silhouette to outline them well and ngl once I figured that out I fell in love with the process and haven't looked back
