Sharing my submission for SCBWI’s Narrative Award.
The theme was “Tiny Wonders.” I chose the tiny wonder of decomposition 😂🪰🪱🍄

I think this may be the best page in Obsidian Blaze so far. No dialogue except for the last panel, all facial expressions, you know exactly what the characters are thinking, plus the composition is real good. Not to brag, but I kinda killed it with this page

Shadowy gunman in an alley guns down Thomas and Martha Wayne - creating the Batman.

*Most modern depictions of this scene omit the gunman, but focus on Bruce, the pearls, dramatic lighting and composition.

Gmgm ✨ finally switched to v4. Doesn’t support custom settings yet and feels a little inflexible, often comes out blurry, but there are definitely improvements in overall composition in the first run 🤩

Being Eve's supervisor, Jessie has spent more than enough years caring for and protecting the national parks. Despite the exhaustive job, she still has a cheerful disposition.

Death Metal diffusion!
Working on feeding album art into The results are pretty cool so far.

I like how the compositions always work well with a square crop because of the source material.

You what, I'll post one pic from the shoot cause one, the composition and posing is incredible, and two, she looks incredibly good 😤

One of my favorite side characters in Moorcock's multiverse, Sepiriz/The Warrior in Jet and Gold. I like in Hawkmoon how he's just a largely silent knight that kicks ass while in Elric's Saga he is a powerful mage that gives a ton of exposition.

In the meantime while working on all of these I've been experimenting with "breaking" stablediffusion to create interesting compositions, with very raw, and as my friend described it "rhytmic composition"

A few of those pieces:

Embarrassing story time: I remember the moment I realised 69 looks like the position it stands for. I totally thought I discovered something mind blowing, only to get hit with a “Mimi, how did you NOT know that”

Ah..

So, once in my rural life, I began to take the time to dive back into color. My first process was very disciplined: 3 large canvases where I returned to my fairly natural composition of round shapes, which I then deconstructed, fragmented and refragmented in layers. 5/

Storm got a small redesign! I mainly tweaked a few colors and changed the positioning of a few of her scars. I also changed the design of her prosthetic leg a bit!

V4
"Old man looking out of window at people going up and down the street"

Not bad. I wonder why it's less sharp compared to previous versions, but the compositions and visuals are interesting.

In the first drawing he seeks to capture animal movement, in the 2nd beauty, the 3rd frivolity & finally in the 4th an idea of form as visual mapping. Woman Washing her Feet (1944), Portrait of François (1946), Faun (1947) & Composition (1948)
