This is so wonderful. And to think these were used as interior art in-between a lot of text inside your average pulp magazine. Not to take away from the stories, but this belongs on the cover or in an art gallery. My take!

I am debating as to whether or not to give the Chiff Chaff Diesel a proper TVS style face or not, given their vague RWS style face in the magazine. Gave him big proper jowls in the perhaps face. Ignore the terrifying eye there.

Vargas became widely known in the 1940s as the creator of the iconic pin-ups for Esquire magazine known as Varga Girls. Between 1940 and 1946 Vargas produced 180 paintings for the magazine. The art on American WW II aircrafts was inspired by these pin-ups.
