if i'm understanding it correctly it means the specular light becomes offset from the center of diffuse light as the viewing angle approaches a perpendicular angle to the light source (on a round surface)

Celeste's OST is an amazing piece of artwork, and by far one of my favourites. The use of instrumentation to demonstrate leitmotifs and how the melodies intertwine with each other perfectly reflects the underlying message of the journey of overcoming anxiety.
